CODE: 10796 XJ 3" Premium Short Arm Lift Kit

I purchased the 3” short arm with the leaf pack. Using an overhead lift and taking our time (and dealing with a few stubborn old parts), my brother and I got it installed in about 8 hours. I found the instructions to be adequate. The Cherokee rides fine. Stiffer than before, but the old springs were worn out. I don’t expect a vehicle that is lifted to do serious off road work to ride like a family car. Running it with 31” tires. I’m 66 years old and the ride is comfortable enough for my old back. I’m very satisfied with the result. Can’t wait to get it up into the mountains and the desert.

TLRD; kit is nice but even with the bilsteins it is not a soft riding DD kit like I was led to believe by third party vendor. Instructions are lacking. The kit seems to be good quality, but it rides really stiff and the instructions are severely lacking if this is your first time doing this sort of thing. The instructions should be rewrote to be more specific and include tips or tricks to achieve each step. I was left improvising every step of the way. When I ordered, through a third party, I reiterated how this is a DD and not a trail rig. I wanted a good looking xj with a soft ride. I ended up with half of that, a good looking xj. I would not buy this kit again as it was overkill for my application and I should’ve done more research rather than trust someone’s opinion whom I’ve never met, regardless of their notoriety. The bilstein shocks I received didn’t match the item number on the parts list that came with the kit, so maybe I received the wrong shocks? This will be my starting point on how to get this xj riding softer. My drivers side front sits almost 3/4 lower than my passenger side front, so this is another area that needs to be addressed. I was hoping it would level out after an alignment and a few miles on the suspension, no dice.

No need to look elsewhere. This is the best 3" kit in the market. Without question.
