    This kit comes with everything you need to convert your ball in socket Saginaw front driveshaft to a U-joint style C.V. driveshaft. Although not very strong, the factory Saginaw driveshaft works fine up to a lift height of about 4". Beyond 4" of lift this driveshaft may not be able to tolerate the angle created by suspension droop. This will cause accelerated driveshaft wear.

    Kit includes:
    • New double cardan C.V. driveshaft (custom lengths available)
    • Transfer case yoke (you will need to re-use your dust shield)
    • Dana 30 Pinion yoke with U- bolt kit for fastening driveshaft to transfer case yoke
    • (optional) To properly replace a crush sleeve style pinion yoke, you also need to replace the pinion seal and the crush sleeve - 46194 & NS5778.
    • Detailed Installation Instructions

    For the ultimate in performance, we now offer Tom Woods multiple CV driveshafts for WJ's. This is recommended for any WJ owner going to 5.5" or more of lift to eliminate vibrations stemming from the front drive shaft. This available option adds another joint to the front drive shaft cutting the work load of each u-joint to just half. This option adds $210 to the price of the conversion kit.

    Bought a 2004 Special Edition that came with AWD. After installing a 2" coil spacer lift, the Saginaw driveshaft failed. I wanted to convert my NP247 to a NP242J and this driveshaft conversion was the ultimate upgrade. It came with a HD front pinion yoke, as well as, the HD rear pinion yoke too. This driveshaft is much thicker than the stock driveshaft. Though it's not listed, you will need the "Pinion Yoke Removal Tool" in order to correctly remove & install the front & rear pinion yokes.

    The drive shaft itself is really beefy, and well made. Comes pre lubed. I had a rezeppa fail on me at 197k in North Carolina during a cross country move and replaced it with this, I do light wheeling with the Jeep and this was the prefect kit to put keep things going

    Put the Benchmark 3” lift on. Smoked the bearings on the stock shaft after 10 miles. Put this on, performed flawlessly. Great products and company.
