Look no further! Our XJ gas tank skid was designed to withstand abuse, it is made from 3/16" plate steel that has been laser-cut and CNC formed for a precision fitment. It comes fully welded and powder coated black. Are you wanting to run a new larger exhaust, don't hesitate. We have taken this into consideration and made the appropriate clearances for up to 3" exhaust kits. This skid works well with a factory style receiver hitch and requires zero modification and a direct bolt on which includes all hardware and is made in the USA.

Note: Gas tank nut plate kit is required if your vehicle is not equipped with a receiver hitch

ATTENTION: There are major differences in the skids for the different year ranges.  Please make sure you order the correct skid plate for your year XJ.  If you order the incorrect one, an exchange will be subject to restock fees and reboxing fees in addition to the customer being responsible for shipping both ways.  This can get very expensive due to the size and weight of this product and can be avoided by making the correct selection when you check out.  Thank you!

This skid is simply awesome. It arrived quickly and was well packaged. The steel is plenty thick and the powder coat was applied well. It fit my 2000 XJ with the the 2" receiver hitch. I don't believe the hitch is from the factory (not on build sheet). No major clearance issues. Best price I could find for this steel thickness and shipping was free. I did have to order longer bolts and washers since I have a receiver and shackle relocation brackets. It deletes the factory exhaust shield, but not an issue as there is at least 4" of space between exhaust and gas tank at corner. Also, helps to trim gas tank strap bolts for fitment.

Really impressed with the skid plate. I do believe it’s one of the strongest on the market. Product is well designed, easy to install, and makes me feel secure in the rocks.
